City of East Point Ben Hill Road Widening East Point, Georgia Client Challenge: With several major residential and commercial developments under construction in southwest East Point, it was determined that Ben Hill Road would soon be unable to handle traffic conditions.   PRIME Solution: Prime Engineering spearheaded the design initiative to widen Ben Hill Road from 2 lanes to 4 lanes over a 1.5-mile length.  Included in the design was wetland and Corps of Engineering permitting for a stream crossing, utility re-location, and the design of a new signalized intersection at Ben Hill Road and Welcome All Road. Prior to widening Ben Hill Road to accommodate increased traffic, and pursuant to an Environmental Impact Report completed earlier by Prime Engineering, Inc., the City of East Point contracted with the firm to provide surveying, civil engineering design, bidding assistance, and construction administration for the relocation of the sanitary sewer line located along the road.  Engineering scope included site survey, sanitary sewer capacity analysis, and design of new sanitary sewers.   Roll over thumbnail to view picture
