Prime Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Intern to support engineering services in a variety of departments. You will directly contribute to our rapid growth by learning and applying inter-disciplinary engineering skills in a diverse project environment. The typical term for an internship is from May to August, flexible dates per school schedule.

Our rigorous training program will expose you to every facet of our operation. The Industrial Market Segment specializes in petroleum & chemical, food & beverage, process & manufacturing, and aviation facilities. Work elements include liquid and gas storage; pumping and piping systems; heat exchangers; drainage systems; and bulk petroleum/chemical receipt, storage, and loading systems.

Infrastructure Market Segment

The Infrastructure Market Segment specializes in providing solutions for residential, commercial, and municipal clients. Work elements include hydrology/hydraulics; HEC/flood study modeling; utilities; water quality; water and sewer; roadways, trails, and pedestrian facilities; stormwater; permitting; and surveying.

Transportation Market Segment

The Transportation Market Segment specializes in providing solutions for aviation, railroad, logistics, and commercial clients. Work elements include bridges; highways; pedestrian access; ports and marine; railroads; roadways; traffic studies; transit; and vehicle maintenance facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of design documents, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Detailed design engineering
  • Preparation of studies and reports
  • Site investigations and construction administration
  • Identification and management of client deliverables and expectations
  • Communicate with clients, subconsultants, and office staff

Qualifications

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum – currently enrolled and in good standing
  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Basic knowledge and experience in MS Office and AutoCAD a plus
  • Must be resourceful and interact with a high level of professionalism with clients, subconsultants, and office staff
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn and grow in the field
