You must possess strong experience designing for the multidisciplinary projects in an engineering consulting environment. Individuals will perform and manage efforts in preliminary and detailed engineering design along with production of construction drawings for a variety of technically challenging projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Performing technical engineering design, calculations, analysis, and review of mechanical/process-related tasks.
- Providing leadership and direction to junior engineers/designers.
- Preparing specifications and conducting engineering studies as needed to support engineering services.
- Conducting technical bid evaluations, reviewing vendor documents, and addressing Requests for Information.
- Applying mechanical engineering design concepts, principles, practices, codes and procedures to resolve tasks.
- Interfacing with other engineering disciplines (process, civil/structural, electrical and instrumentation) to ensure a coordinated design of engineering deliverables.
- Conducting technical review of industrial project documents: reports, studies, and engineering drawings.

- May require up to 10%-20% travel.
Qualifications
- 7+ years’ related experience in the oil & gas midstream, chemical, refinery, or food & beverage industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or scientific discipline from an ABET-accredited university.
- Professional Engineering license required.
- Multi-state PE registration with NCEES is a plus.
- Strong technical and design skills as well as verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess great organizational skills and time management abilities.
- Be detail-oriented, adaptable, and enthusiastic.
- Ability to communicate and provide a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Familiar with fluid flow, hydraulics, surge analysis, pumps, and stress analysis approaches to problem solving.
- Working knowledge of ASME, ANSI, API, and other industry codes, specifications, and standards.
- Understanding of PFD, P&IDs, and engineering drawing development process.
- Proficiency in material/equipment selection process to ensure design requirements are met.
- Exhibit flexibility to work on multiple projects and react to changing client expectations.
- Experience in utilizing Microsoft Office tools (SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, etc.) and document control management software.
- Demonstrated success in a variety of technically challenging projects – engineering design of calculation, reports, and construction drawings.
